CASology Plaid

It's a joy that I get to be (my first time ever!) Guest Designer for CASology this week!  I'm so excited to do this.

The cue card this week is Plaid and plaid makes me think of two things, blankets and Christmas.  I decided to go the Christmas direction.  What do you think of when you think of plaid?

I used Papertrey Ink Plaid Builders stamp set to Silver Emboss a plaid design on three Lawn Fawn stitched rectangles.  The rule of three's works great with CAS cards, as long as you leave lots of that nice open white space.  I added a little pop of color with the sentiment (PTI) and three small gems. I love the shine of the embossing.

Thanks to Hazel, Melissa and the rest of the CASology design team for having me as Guest Designer this week. It was a great experience.

Happy Wishes

Freshly Made Sketches is having a Celebration for their 200th Sketch, so I made a Happy Wishes card. I'm going to try to get another card made before the challenge closes in a few hours, as they have lots of great giveaway's from some incredible sponsors for this celebration!

I stamped a soft band of Sea Glass and Maliblue ink across the middle of the card using a PTI ombre builders stamp.  I topped that with a glossy accents coated happy die cut and stamped the wishes (PTI) sentiment in Maliblue ink.

Merry and Bright

I hope it isn't too early for Christmas for you!  This card is for Ellen Hutson's August Mix it Up Challenge with Clearly Besotted.  I combined Essentials by Ellen Brushstroke Christmas and the dots from Bold Blooms with Clearly Besotted's Dandelion Dreams.  I'm also putting it into Christmas Card Challenges #36 - Anything Goes.

Hello

Today's card is for CAS(E) this Sketch.  I used an image from PTI enclosed: star stamp set to make the design using Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise and Hybiscus Burst ink.  The sentiment is also PTI.  Oh, these colors are so not the norm for me, they are very bright and in your face, and oops, I just noticed I must have had some fluffy's sticking to my stamp for some of the impressions!

ETA - Happy  my cards was to be chosen one of the favorites at CAS(E) this Sketch!

Stood in the Storm

ETA - Very thrilled to have been chosen the winner for this weeks CASology Challenge!

ETA - Wow, also happy to get a Spotlight Artists Award with City Crafter Challenge!

Spotlight Artist Badge

I have another card for CASology and City Crafter this week using the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away set again.

I die cut the Sea Star (or Starfish if you prefer) three times from cardstock inked up some with SSS new Apricot ink color and stacked them up.  I think it's the perfect color match for Sea Stars commonly seen on the East and West coast of Canada.  I dotted some stickles along it's arms and mounted it over a circle of blended Sea Glass ink.  I thought the sentiment fit too, if you've ever watched a loose Sea Star being moved around in the waves you will see it moving it's arms (sails) to try become more stable and secure by finding something to latch on to.

Deeper than the Ocean

Wow, I've been away from my blog longer than I planned so I'm happy to be back with this card!

I used a PTI background builders stamp for the Maliblue waves and a new wave die from SSS to make my ocean.  The sentiment and sand dollar are from SSS Sail Away set stamped in distress inks. I covered the Sand Dollar with glass glitter inspired by some of Debby Hughes recent cards and popped it up with foam dots.

I'm linking my card up to CASology Week 159 Aquatic, City Crafter Challenge Week 274 and The Male Room challenge 16.
ETA - I'm just sneaking in to link up to Inkspirational Challenges.

This glitter is great, I can see using it a lot for Christmas cards.
