Sweet!

This week's CASology Cue Card is Sweet.  I went to see my neighbor's new baby girl last night and had "sweet baby" on the brain.  Today, I remembered I had an impression of my oldest son's handprint from when he was about a week old and decided to make a sweet baby card with it.  It was done with a Clearsnap Magic Stamp Moldable Foam Stamp which Ellen Hutson carries. These are blue foam blocks that you heat up then press a stamp (gives reverse image) or other things with texture into it.  I used it for Josh's hand when he was less than a week old.  Please be very careful to check the temperature of the foam before you press baby's hand in so you don't burn baby - you know how hot your heat tool gets!  I remember I did a few trial runs on my own hand before I did his.  Here is something surprising - Josh just turned 17 in March so this impression is 17 years old!  You can reuse these -  if you heat them up again they will smooth out.  I didn't have the heart to - I'm keeping it forever!  (I think the white circle is a spot where I overheated the foam - you can see it is dark blue on the picture of the block below- and the white creases are from it being crushed in the drawer at some point.)

I think I'll throw this in with the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge and Addicted to CAS (I think this would be a great baby shower card) this week as well!

I inked up the foam with HA soft stone ink and stamped it on white cardstock, die cut the stamped image with Lawn Fawn's stitched borders, and stamped on the name with Lawn Fawn's Clark's ABC's.  It's very difficult to see, but I spritzed shimmer spray over the panel, making it very shimmery and all the more sweet!  Then, I mounted it on a plain white panel.

Thanks so much for Looking!

Be your own kind of beautiful

This is a card based on this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch! #117.  Stamps are from PTI's  Oopsie Daisy set and the sentiment is from PTI's Life is Beautiful.  Glossy Accents coat the great colors and a strip of shiny, patterned vellum edges the side.

It's such a great sketch this week but it took me forever to make this card!  I started with a completely different idea but it evolved into this and I'm really happy with it!

I'll also throw it in to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge where the theme is Happy Birthday.  Even though the sentiment isn't an obvious birthday one, I think this is a great birthday card!
